The rules for using SKIP., including paid questions, the answer lifecycle, Local payouts and acceptable use.
Effective date: [TODO — public launch date]
These Terms govern your use of SKIP. at skipandask.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
SKIP. is intended to operate through a Florida limited liability company that has not yet been formed. The contracting entity will be identified here once formation is complete.
Internal note — to finalize before launch: Contracting entity: [TODO — Florida LLC legal name, to be completed after formation].
SKIP. operates a marketplace. Travelers pay SKIP. for a paid question. Locals provide their own personal local knowledge through the marketplace and answer questions using their own judgment.
SKIP. does not write answers, does not verify the accuracy of any answer, and does not guarantee any particular outcome from following a Local's suggestion. Answers are personal opinion, not professional advice.
One account can hold both roles: you can ask questions as a Traveler and answer them as a Local. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile information and for keeping your login credentials secure.
You may not buy your own question. Purchases where the Traveler and the Local are the same account are rejected.
A paid question costs US$3.99. Payment is taken before the question reaches the Local.
One purchase covers one main question, one directly related follow-up after the Local's answer, and the Local's final reply. A new topic requires a new purchase.
The Local has 24 hours to accept or decline. After accepting, the Local has a further 24 hours to answer. These deadlines are enforced automatically by the platform.
A question cannot be cancelled after it is sent. If it is declined or a deadline passes, it closes automatically with a full refund.
A Local earns US$2.00 for a qualifying completed answer under the platform rules. Refunded, expired, declined or otherwise ineligible questions earn nothing.
Locals are intended to operate as independent contractors and independent service providers. Locals are not employees, agents or partners of SKIP., set their own availability, and decide which questions to accept.
Locals are responsible for their own applicable taxes and for any registrations required where they live.
Contract wording alone does not conclusively determine worker classification; classification depends on the facts and applicable law.
Internal note — to finalize before launch: Independent-contractor classification and associated tax / reporting obligations require final attorney review.
Local earnings accumulate as a balance. The minimum withdrawal is US$20.00.
To receive payouts, a Local must complete Stripe Connect onboarding and accept the applicable Stripe Connected Account terms, including the Stripe Services Agreement as it applies to connected accounts. Stripe may require identity and compliance information.
Payout destinations, timing and requirements are determined by Stripe and by the rules of your country. SKIP. does not see or store your bank details, only your payout setup status.
If Stripe onboarding is incomplete or the account is restricted, earnings remain in your balance but withdrawals are paused until setup is complete.
You agree not to use SKIP. to:
Users can report a message, a conversation or a profile. We review reports and may close a question, remove content, restrict or suspend an account.
We operate a dedicated process for reporting non-consensual intimate images, available without an account.
Messages may be translated automatically so each side can read them in their own language. The original text is always preserved and can be viewed. Machine translation may be imperfect and SKIP. is not responsible for translation errors.
You keep ownership of the content you submit. You grant SKIP. a licence to host, store, display, translate and transmit that content as needed to operate the service and to meet legal, safety and record-keeping obligations.
SKIP. is available internationally, subject to applicable law and to platform and payment availability in your country. SKIP. is not offered where its provision or use would be prohibited by applicable law, and you may not use it if that is the case where you are.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
The service is provided on an as-is basis, without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. SKIP. is not responsible for decisions you make based on a Local's answer.
The final limitation-of-liability wording is under legal review.
Internal note — to finalize before launch: Warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability and indemnity wording need attorney drafting and review.
You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or creates a safety, fraud or legal risk.
Deleting an account removes login access and identifying profile content and de-identifies retained records; it does not erase transaction, refund, earning, payout, report or moderation records. See the Privacy Policy.
Florida is the intended governing-law jurisdiction for these Terms.
The final dispute-resolution structure — including whether disputes are resolved in court or by arbitration, venue, and any class-action waiver — has not been finalized.
Internal note — to finalize before launch: Governing law, venue, arbitration vs. courts and any class-action waiver must be finalized with counsel before launch.
For material changes, we will notify users by email and by in-app notice where appropriate. For minor or non-material changes, publishing the updated page with a new date may be sufficient. Where applicable law requires affirmative consent for a change, we will obtain it before the change applies to you.
